How do you keep track of your training?

Tons of people spend a ton of money on trainers, workout programs to log their miles, hours, etc…I think simplification is beautiful sometimes…trust me, I’ve done the whole making things overcomplicated when it comes to training, and it just adds stress to your life.

Now some people might think that this is keeping track of too much, but it’s not for me.  I thought of the most important things to keep track of.  If there is a hiccup in my training, I can look back to my vital information: sleep, time of sleep, water intake, body weight,  and of course, training load.  And I keep track of all my yearly averages (I plan on doing this stuff until I physically can’t) so I can look back on previous years so I can compare.

Check it out…it will look basically blank for the past month…but training will most definitely pick up here real soon, you can bet on that! 😉

Burning 5,000 calories a day??? Wowzers! As to what did I do today. . . . I went hiking w/ some other teachers – we are training for the Grand Canyon next week-end. Hope your school year has been good.

That was just one day Cathy, but it definitely gets up there most everyday with the long rides I have been doing! Hiking sounds like a fun time, it’s one of my favorites things to do here. What a difference it makes just where you are at, moving down here really opened up my “outdoor eyes” and hiking sections of the AT (App Trail) near here are things I always love doing. I would love to see the Grand Canyon someday, there are so many beautiful places out West! Hope you have a great time and good weather for the trip! School has been good, one week left of it for the Semester!
